Lyndhurst MMA Instructor Stuns Fighters With Unexpected Win At European Competition
Edgardo Moran stood in the corner of the gym feeling like the underdog.
It was his first international trip and he was moments away from representing the USA in the International Tang Soo Do competition, held Nov. 11 and 12 in the Netherlands.

A Connecticut store will soon permanently close its doors after 102 years in business.
Melzen Pet Supply, located in the Hartford County town of Glastonbury, will have its last day of business on Saturday, Nov. 12, the owners announced on Monday, Oct. 10.
The owners said their grandfather, Stanley Melzen, first opened the business, located at 100 Oak St. Glastonbury, in the 1920s shortly after he immigrated from Poland, and he passed the business on to their father, Joe Sr.

A Hudson Valley man has been killed fighting alongside Ukraine this week, according to CNN.
Willy Joseph Cancel, age 22, formerly of Orange County, was killed while working with a private military contracting company when he was killed on Monday, April 25, CNN reported.
Cancel, a former US Marine, and a corrections officer in Tennessee, signed up to work for the company shortly after the war broke out a the end of February, his mother, Rebecca Cabrera confirmed to CNN.

Filip Babiuk, A Clark resident who spent much of his life in Linden, died suddenly Sunday. He was 25.
Born in Poland, Filip moved to Linden in 2005 before moving to Clark less than a year ago, where he owned and operated Stealth Pool Installations.
