South Jersey Trio Tied Dogs To Tree For A Week, One Died: Prosecutor
Three South Jersey residents are accused of tying two dogs to a tree, leaving one to die, authorities said.
Derek Hardy, 58, Lassale Hardy, 56, and Shak Balayet, 51, all of Egg Harbor Township, were arrested on two charges of animal cruelty and multiple charges of disorderly persons, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
They were charged in connection with the death of one dog and cruelty to another.

A 38-year-old man from Mays Landing has been indicted in connection with a fatal shooting in Egg Harbor Township last summer, authorities said.
Isaiah Toulson, who remains a fugitive, was charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and weapons offenses, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
On Aug. 19, 2022, at 4:08 a.m., the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to a 911 emergency call at 6805 Delilah Rd., Egg Harbor Township, for a report of a male gunshot victim.

An 80-year-old passenger in a crash last week has died of her injuries.
Delores McCreight, of Northfield, was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division with life-threatening injuries from the crash, police said on Thursday, Sept. 8.

Three young children were locked in a hot car while their caretakers shopped at a New Jersey Walmart, authorities said.
Cyndie Jourdain and a 17-year-old female, both of Galloway Township, had been inside the Egg Harbor Township store for approximately 45 minutes by the time police rescued the three crying children on Wednesday, June 8, local police said.
Temps outside soared to 86 degrees, they said.
