Meriden Storm Drain Explosion Leads To Bomb Scare
A storm drain explosion in a Connecticut city led to a bomb scare after a suspicious device was found. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 6 p.m., Mondy, April 29, in the area of Cross Street at Women's Way in Meriden. According to Lt. Darrin McKay of the Meriden Police, officers found smoke coming from the drain and determined it did not appear overly large. No victims were located, and no one appeared injured in the incident. 5 Hours Later: Cliffside Park Bomb Threat Turns Out To Be Bogus
A bomb threat made in Cliffside Park turned out to be bogus after a sweep of the area revealed "no public concern," the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said. The threat was reported on the 500 block of Anderson Avenue at approximately 12:40 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, bringing the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad and Counterterrorism Unit to the scene. After nearly five hours, residents were given the all-clear to return to the area.

Construction workers in Waltham got a scare on Monday, Nov. 27, when they found a cache of unexploded cannon balls buried on a job site. Workers were on a job site at 41 Foundry Avenue when they found the 12 potentially explosive cannonballs, Massachusetts State Police said. A group of teens were unsuccessful in their plight to light sticks of dynamite in a Philadelphia grocery store Tuesday, June 20, police said. Three black males ranging from 16 to 19 years old were attempting to light the stick inside Fresh Grocer at 5301 Chew Avenue around 510 p.m., police said. A worker at a trucking company was cleaning a vehicle when he found a hand grenade, drawing a large police presence Tuesday, Oct. 25, authorities confirmed. The explosive device was found by a worker at Marine Cargo on New Brunswick Avenue in Rahway, and the company's owner reported it to Rahway police around 11:45 a.m., local police said.
